I’ve noticed recently that more people seem to be approving of cosmetic surgery. Is this true? I know I certainly approve.
Great question! Los Angeles is known for plastic surgery, but people across the nation are finding cosmetic surgery more and more acceptable according to a report published by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). The ASAPS found that more than half of Americans, regardless of income level, approve of cosmetic surgery. Here are some highlights from the report:
- It comes as no surprise that as the economy improves, more cosmetic procedures are being performed. Nearly 9.5 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed in 2010, according to statistics released by the ASAPS.
- Interestingly, income, sex, and marital status had little influence on a person’s overall approval rating of cosmetic plastic surgery.
- As technology advances, men and women are considering plastic surgery as a reasonable means of enhancing their skin, reshaping their facial structures, and improving their body contour.
Women and men are becoming increasingly interested in maintaining their youthful look, and plastic surgery can be a super effective way to achieve this goal.
