Breast Lift vs. Augmentation
Tweet
Dear Charlie,
Ever since I had children, I’ve noticed a change in my breasts. They are not as full and as perky as they once were. I’m not quite sure if I need a breast augmentation or a breast lift. What’s the difference?
Thanks,
Kendra
Hi Kendra,
Great question! Many women who come to our practice initially think they need a breast lift to achieve the look that their breasts had before having children. While some women may be candidates for a breast lift in Los Angeles, others may benefit from a breast augmentation. The biggest difference between a breast lift and a breast augmentation is the use of implants. Augmentation means enlargement, while a breast lift literally lifts the breasts to a higher position on the chest.
In some cases, a combination of the two procedures may be the solution. Known as a mastopexy augmentation, this option combines both a breast lift and a breast augmentation to achieve a breast appearance that is both lifted and fuller, creating a more youthful breast contour.
If you want to improve the appearance of your breasts, the best suggestion I have is to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Your surgeon can assess your body and concerns to help you make the right decision.
Hugs,
Charlie
