Breast Lift Surgery: A Real Patient Story

Natalie, a colleague of mine at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates, became a patient of Dr. Stevens’ when she decided to undergo a breast augmentation and breast lift. Although her breasts weren’t large, she noticed that they were starting to sag at a young age, and lack of volume at the top of her breasts left her feeling frustrated that she didn’t have any cleavage.
Natalie asked me to share the story of her breast lift in Los Angeles. I’ve outlined a few of the key points of Natalie’s experience to help women who are thinking about breast enhancement get an idea of what to expect from someone who’s been there.
- Managing Post-Operative Pain: One of Natalie’s major concerns before her procedure was the amount of pain she’d feel after surgery. But, Natalie was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable she was in the days following the procedure! She carefully followed the instructions she’d been given about taking pain medication and using ice packs to relieve swelling, spent plenty of time resting, and didn’t over-exert herself.
- Planning for Recovery: Natalie knew that she would need a lot of help doing most everything for a few days after her surgery, so she asked her boyfriend to stay with her. She says that having someone you trust available to help you for a few days after surgery is key to recovering quickly and comfortably. Natalie also prepared by stocking up on food, ice packs, and other things she knew she’d need – having everything ready at home made things that much easier for her.
- Preparing Psychologically: Natalie describes herself as a “worrier,” so she understands many of the concerns patients have before breast enhancement. But, her advice to other worriers is to try to put aside their nervousness and focus on how happy they’re going to be with their body. Natalie told me that her boyfriend didn’t want her to have breast enhancement – he loved her just the way she was and didn’t want her to be in pain. Even though Natalie appreciated her boyfriend’s concern, she wants to remind women who are considering breast enhancement that the procedure is about you and having a body that you love! Your loved ones will understand what the surgery means to you once they see how much you love your new look!
Natalie has been thrilled with the results of her breast augmentation and breast lift in Los Angeles. She believes that any woman who is unhappy with her breasts should seriously consider breast enhancement because she understands firsthand how loving the way you look on the outside can make you feel great on the inside!
