Dear Charlie:

I have a friend who swears by ZERONA – she says it’s just like liposuction in Los Angeles. Is that true? What is it and does it really work?

Thanks!

Danielle

Hi Danielle!

Over the last few years, a number of liposuction alternatives have been developed and are becoming increasingly popular. ZERONA is one of these treatments and while it does produce some pretty impressive results, it’s not “just like” liposuction – there are some important differences you should understand.

ZERONA is a laser treatment that works by using low-level laser energy to cause fat cells to gradually release the fat they’re holding, which is then removed by the body’s natural cleaning process. The great thing about ZERONA is that it is completely non-invasive – there no swelling or bruising, and no downtime!

Like liposuction in Los Angeles, ZERONA can be used to permanently remove fat from the hips, waist, upper arms and thighs. In one study, ZERONA patients lost an average of 3 inches from their waist, hips, and thighs! However, ZERONA can only be used to treat smaller pockets of diet and exercise-resistant fat – patients who want to treat a larger area will likely get better results with traditional liposuction. Some people choose to combine ZERONA with other treatments, like Smartlipo, for more dramatic results.

No anesthesia means that patients can resume their regular activities immediately after a ZERONA treatment, but it’s important to understand that in order to ensure maximum results, the patient needs to commit to the full treatment series. Each ZERONA treatment session generally lasts under an hour and patients will need multiple sessions spaced over a couple weeks.

Whether you’re considering liposuction or a liposuction alternative like ZERONA, there are a number of treatment options to help you get the body you’ve always dreamed of! You should work with your surgeon to see what procedure – or combination of procedures – is best for you and your goals.

Thanks for writing!

Charlie
