I’m starting to notice more men interested in cosmetic surgery. Is this a recent thing? A lot of my friends talk about having liposuction surgery in Los Angeles. When did plastic surgery become such the rave among men?

You aren’t the only one feeling the surge of interest in plastic surgery among men! In fact, the 2009 ASPS statistics (the most recent available) show that cosmetic surgery has increased 7% among men since the year 2000. While plastic surgery is still more common among women, men are definitely becoming more interested in enhancing their appearance.
Procedures such as liposuction are not only just for women…this procedure is helpful for men as well as women who have excess deposits of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. In fact, I talked with one of the doctors at the practice where I work, Dr. Grant Stevens, and he told me he has noticed an increase in men looking to contour areas such as the love handles and back. He also said that more men are exploring their non-surgical body contouring options.
